Environmental and Social Impact Assessment availability for the ‘Boesemani’ Project

SACE is considering support for the ‘Boesemani’ Project, which consists of the construction of a new steel mill in Luleå, Sweden, to replace the existing steelmaking facilities at the same location. This new mill will use electric arc furnaces, continuous casting, hot rolling and downstream processing. Once the Project is operational, the existing coke plant, blast furnace and steel plant will be decommissioned. The capacity will be 2.5 million tons of hot rolled coils (and 1.3 million of cold mill products).

SACE is carrying on the environmental and social review of this project on the basis of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) provided by the Project Company.
